To list the keywords which are common to a set of articles:
• | In the Titles column of the Index Window, highlight the titles of the articles that you are interested in. |
To highlight all titles currently displayed in the Titles column, place the cursor in this column and use the Select All command from the Edit menu.
To highlight an arbitrary set of articles, see Selecting Multiple List Items.
• | Select the Preview Pane command from the View menu. From the cascading menu, select the Show Keywords option. |
The keywords common to all highlighted articles are shown in the Preview Pane below the Titles column.
If the Preview Pane appears blank, this means that there are no keywords common to all of the highlighted articles. In that case, try highlighting fewer articles.
• | In the Titles column, experiment with highlighting and unhighlighting some of the titles. |
The list of keywords in the Preview Pane is instantly updated to reflect the articles currently highlighted.
• | To see which other articles are associated with a keyword in the Preview Pane, you can drag the keyword from the Preview Pane to the Selected column. |
When you drag a keyword into the Selected column, the list of articles in the Titles column is updated. This unhighlights any previously highlighted titles. This also clears the keywords in the Preview Pane, since the Preview Pane always reflects only the highlighted titles.
