From the Index Window, you can list articles associated with all of the selected keywords (see Retrieving Related Articles). However, if you want to exclude from the list any articles associated with another keyword, you can build a query, or logical expression of keywords.
To find articles associated with one or more keywords, but NOT associated with another keyword:
• | Select the Build Query command from the Edit menu. |
The Build Query dialog box is displayed.
• | If the Query edit box is not empty, select the Clear button. |
If you wish to find articles not associated with a keyword, but don't care what other keywords they are associated with, you can skip the next step and all steps until selecting the NOT button.
• | Double-click on a keyword which you want to INCLUDE for your final list of articles. |
Each time you select a keyword or operator button, your selection appears in the Query edit box.
• | If you want to include more than one keyword, select the AND button. |
• | Continue alternating between selecting keywords and the AND button until you have included all the keywords you want. |
• | Select the AND button. |
• | Select the NOT button. |
• | Double-click on the keyword which you want to EXCLUDE for your final list of articles. |
• | Select the OK button to run the query. |
In the Index Window, the titles of articles related to the INCLUDED keywords but not related to the EXCLUDED keyword are now displayed in the Query Titles column.
