Latest Software Updates

The latest Personal Knowbase update is version 4.1.3. For changes information, please see the Personal Knowbase Version History.

If you are still running an older version (3.2.6 or earlier), please see our Personal Knowbase Upgrade Information to upgrade your license.

If you have purchased version 4.0 or later, this is a free update. Follow the instructions below to get the latest version.

To update:

1. Download the new software:

   System Requirements: Windows 11, 10, 8 or 8.1 (excepting Win RT), 7, Vista (including 64-bit 10, 8, 7, or Vista), or XP

   File Size: 4.83 MB

2. Install the software:

   1. Close Personal Knowbase if it is currently running.

   2. Run PKSETUP.EXE from your download folder.

   3. Follow the installation instructions on the screen.

   4. Install this version in the same folder as your previous version.

      As long as you install the new version over the old one, your user preferences and registration information will remain in effect. You do not need to uninstall the previous version first.

   5. We recommend that you keep a backup copy of the original downloaded file in case you need to re-install the software someday.

3. Register the software:

   When you install for the first time on any computer or portable drive, you need to register the software to unlock the trial version.

   The first time you run Personal Knowbase:

   1. Select the entire welcome email that we sent you. Press Ctrl-a to select the email, then press Ctrl-c to copy it to the Clipboard.

   2. In Personal Knowbase, click on the "Register Now..." button when the evaluation screen appears or select the "Enter Registration Key..." command from the Help menu.

   3. The Registration Information form will retrieve your name and key from the Clipboard and fill in the fields. Click OK to finish.

      If the form is not filled from the Clipboard, you can enter your registration information manually exactly as it appeared in the welcome email.

   4. If you ever need to re-install Personal Knowbase, you will need to re-enter your key. Please do not lose it.
