Create, edit, and delete custom import formats which enable you to import any sort of structured text file. The New and Edit buttons take you to the Custom Import Wizard which steps through the process of defining how the areas of your text file map to the fields of a Personal Knowbase article.
Select the Close button to return to the Import Dialog Box.
Existing Formats
Lists all custom import formats which have already been defined. Click on a format's name to see its description and to manage it. Double-click on a name to Edit that format.
This list includes all files having the extension KNF from the current Custom Import Formats folder. You can change the location of the Custom Import Formats folder from the Files tab of the Preferences Dialog Box (File Menu).
Description
Briefly describes the currently highlighted format. To change the description of the format, Edit the format and change the description from the first Setup step of the wizard. You must complete the wizard and save the format to save the new description.
Buttons
New
Creates a new custom import format from scratch. The Custom Import Wizard steps you through the process of defining how to map the areas of your text file to the fields of a Personal Knowbase article.
Edit
Edits the custom import format which is highlighted in the Existing Formats list. The Custom Import Wizard steps you through the process of modifying the existing format definition.
Copy
Creates an exact duplicate of the custom import format which is highlighted in the Existing Formats list.
Rename
Edits the name of the custom import format which is highlighted in the Existing Formats list.
Delete
Permanently deletes the custom import format which is highlighted in the Existing Formats list.
