This is the second step of the Column Data Import Wizard. You have specified that the fields in your import file are delimited. You need to specify which delimiter character separates the different fields of data. Your file is displayed in the File Preview pane for your reference.
Select the Back button to return to the previous step of the wizard. Select the Next button to go to the next step of the wizard. Select Cancel to stop the import process.
Delimited File
This is the full path and file name of the file you are importing.
Select the Field Delimiter
Select the character which your file uses to separate the different fields of data which will become each imported article's fields (content, title, keywords, and so on). For example, the common file formats exported by spreadsheet programs are common-delimited or tab-delimited.
If you are importing a CSV file, you should use the Comma option.
If your file uses a character other than Comma, Tab, or Space, select Other and type the delimiter character into the box to the right.
When you change the delimiter character, watch the File Preview pane below. Vertical lines appear indicating the columns of data created by selecting this character. If the columns of data don't look right, try changing the delimiter character.
Text Qualifier
Specify which characters, if any, your file uses to indicate that everything between these characters should be treated as plain text.
File Preview
Your import file is displayed here for your reference. Data will not be imported from the grayed lines. Select the Back button to change which line the data starts on. Vertical lines indicate the columns of data created by the selected delimiter character.
Unprintable characters, such as tabs, may appear as small boxes:
A small Enter symbol indicates that this field contains multiple lines. Only the first line is previewed.
