Export Articles Setup Dialog Box

Specifies the range and parts of articles to export and the order in which the articles are exported. This is the first dialog box displayed by the Export Command (File Menu). To proceed with the export, select the OK button.

 

Modified articles are saved before being exported.

 

Export Range

 

Select which articles to export:

 

If All Articles is selected, all articles in the current data file are exported.

 

If Bookmarked Articles is selected, only the currently bookmarked articles in the data file are exported. This option is only available if there are bookmarked articles.

 

If Selected Articles is selected, only the articles currently listed in the Titles column of the Index Window are exported. This option is only available if at least one title is listed.

 

If Highlighted Articles is selected, only the articles highlighted in the Titles column of the Index Window are exported. This option is only available if you have highlighted titles in the Titles column.

 

If Current Article is selected, only the currently displayed article is exported. This option is only available if the current window is an Article Window.

 

Export What

 

Select which parts of each article to export. At least one box (besides the Export Header) must be checked to proceed.

 

Note that these options are ignored if you are exporting to another Personal Knowbase file, in which case all parts of each article are exported.

 

Include Export Header

If this box is checked, the Export Header is included. If not, the header is omitted. To change the Export Header for your exported file, use the File Properties Command (File Menu).

 

Include Titles

If this box is checked, each article's title is included in the exported file.

 

Number Titles List

This option is only available when you are exporting only the article titles. If this box is checked, the titles list is consecutively numbered.

 

Include Dates

If this box is checked, each article's date is included.

 

Include Attachments

If this box is checked, each article's attachments are listed.

 

Include Keywords

If this box is checked, each article's keywords are listed.

 

Include Article Content

If this box is checked, each article's content text is included.

 

Sort by

 

Select how to sort the exported articles:

 

If Titles is selected, the articles are sorted by their titles.
If Dates is selected, the articles are sorted by their dates.

 

Select the sort method:

 

If Ascending is selected, the titles or dates are sorted from A to Z or from earliest to most recent.
If Descending is selected, the titles or dates are sorted from Z to A or from most recent to earliest.

 

Export Articles as Separate Files

 

If this box is checked, each article is exported as a separate file, rather than creating one file containing all exported articles. In this case, the Export Articles to Folder Dialog Box is displayed for you to specify a folder in which to create the exported files.
